Being grown up

Being grown up means:

  • getting excited at the thought of doing the washing up as it means trying out the new water boiler
  • thinking about what the house needs before buying new gadgets
  • wondering how the hell I became the adult instead of the child
  • watching historical programmes and remembering when those events actually happened
  • seeing a baby you once held holding her own baby
  • knowing that you’re the oldest generation still around in your family tree
  • being sensible about the time you go to bed
  • voluntarily doing things that are good for you, because you’re sensible.

What does being grown up mean for you?
